Picture to 3D Model

Upload a drawing, illustration, AI-made image or photo and get a 3D model you can print or view.

A full 3D figure from one photo of a pet, a person or an object, in about two minutes. 3 credits per model, 5 in colour. Clear photos with a plain background work best.

AI 3D

Your 3D figure appears here.

The figure is scaled to this height and stands on the build plate. Changing it is free – the model is already made.

How it works

  1. 1

Pick a picture with one subject

A drawing, illustration, AI-made image, product shot or photo all work if one subject shows clearly.

  2. 2

    Choose AI 3D or relief

AI 3D builds a full figure for 3 credits. Relief makes a free flat print in your browser.

  3. 3

    Download and print

Set the height in mm and download an STL for your slicer, or a GLB for viewing.

Not only camera photos

A picture does not have to come from a camera. Drawings, illustrations, digital art, images from an AI image generator and product shots can all become 3D models. The AI 3D tab reads the subject in your picture and builds a full figure that stands on the build plate, in about two minutes. Flat artwork such as logos, signs and line drawings is a different case: it often prints better as a raised relief, which is free on this site. This page explains which route fits which picture, and how to prepare each type so the result is clean.

Drawings, illustrations, AI art and product shots

A drawing of a character is a good fit for AI 3D, because the AI turns the flat lines into a figure with volume. Photograph or scan the drawing flat, in even light, and crop out the table and paper edge. A clear front view with the whole body works best.

Art from an AI image generator works the same way. Pick an image with one subject, a plain background and the full body in frame, since busy scenes and cropped limbs lower the quality. Illustrations in a clean style tend to give smooth, printable shapes.

A product shot can become a model too, as long as the object sits alone on a plain background. Remember the back is an estimate, so do not use the result where exact dimensions matter. Only use pictures you own or have the rights to, and do not upload other people's characters or brands to sell prints.

AI 3D or free relief: which one to use

Use AI 3D when you want a full figure you can turn around: a character, a creature, a pet, a toy. A white model costs 3 credits, In colour costs 5, and your first white model is free after you sign in with Google.

Use relief when the picture is flat by nature: a logo, a sign, a stamp, a line drawing, a plaque. Relief turns brightness into height on a base plate. It accepts PNG, JPG, WebP, SVG and GIF files, it is free and unlimited, and it runs in your browser, so the image is not uploaded. A logo run through AI 3D would only be guessed into a strange blob, while relief keeps every edge sharp.

A photo you want to display on a wall or window can also go to the lithophane mode, which makes a thin plate that shows the picture when lit from behind.

Printing and using the result

The AI 3D result downloads as an STL for slicers such as Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer, PrusaSlicer and Cura, and as a GLB for viewing. The STL is shape only; the In colour option adds colors to the GLB.

The figure height is a slider in millimeters after the model is made, and changing it is free. Print with tree supports and 0.12 to 0.16 mm layers at 15% infill, and check thin parts such as ears, tails and swords before slicing. Paint a white print with acrylics, or print in one color.

For a flat artwork print, switch to the relief mode instead. It shows a live 3D preview, lets you pick a product such as a plaque, keychain or coaster, and downloads an STL without any credits. Scale the AI figure up if the picture has small details, because tiny features may not survive a small print.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use AI-generated art as the picture?

Yes. Pick an image with one subject, the whole body in frame and a plain background. Images with several characters or a detailed scene give weaker models, so crop the picture or generate a new one until a single subject stands clear against a plain background.

Should I use AI 3D or relief for a logo?

Use relief. A logo is flat, and relief raises it exactly as drawn on a base plate, with sharp edges. It is free, unlimited and runs in your browser. AI 3D is meant for subjects that have a body and a back.

Can I turn a product shot into a model?

Yes, if the object is alone on a plain background. The AI estimates the back, so the model is a likeness, not a measured copy. Do not rely on it for parts that must fit exactly. For a display piece, a keepsake or a prototype look, it works well.

Is a picture to 3D model free?

Relief and lithophane are free and unlimited. For AI 3D, the first white model is free after you sign in with Google, then a white model costs 3 credits and an In colour model costs 5. Credits are a one-time purchase.

Can I sell prints made from my picture?

Only if you own the picture or have the rights to it. Do not upload other people's characters or brand artwork to make prints for sale. Your own drawings and your own photos are the safe starting point, and the rights question stays with you.
